Tapas Yoga Studio is owned and operated by Liang, an E-RYT 200 in 2012 and E-RYT 500 in 2020 with Yoga Alliance. Liang also completed her 670 Hour YTT at Yoga University of Florida.
22 years ago, Liang moved to the US from China, where she was professionally trained as an acrobatic performer from the time she was a young girl. Her intense athletic high-performance background shaped her into a well-disciplined, determined, focused and passionate person. Liang’s successful acrobatic career has taken her around the world and rewarded her with gold medals, cast on numerous TV appearances, featured on newspaper article highlights, and received highest accolades. Liang was also awarded two gold medals for excellence in international acrobatic competition in France and her native China. However, she remained humble and enjoyed bringing happiness into people’s lives.
Near a decade ago, Liang went to her first yoga class. She immediately fell in love with yoga. Even though she was quite familiar with the stretches, she felt something else that was very different from the usual. She didn’t know what that was yet, but she was hooked. Liang wanted to deepen her understanding of yoga, so she embarked the journey of her first yoga teacher training in 2012. After graduating, Liang started working at local studios and gyms where she gained the teaching experience.
Then Liang went on her yoga teacher journey as a private teacher. She has taught some of America’s well-known professional athletes of the NFL, NBA, and AJGA. Attributable to Liang’s athletic background, athletes are naturally drawn to her. They are amazed by her teaching style and their results. Liang has transformed her athlete clients from “yoga haters” to “yoga lovers”.
Liang has received yoga teacher training from Tymi Howard and MyLinda Morales. While completing her teacher training, she felt a special connection to the yoga principle of Tapas, as she herself is driven, passionate, determined, and disciplined.
In 2019, Liang finally took the giant leap to open her own studio. It has been a long journey, but she is grateful and excited to share her passion and longtime dream with others. She is determined to fulfill her mission of helping people to have a better, happier, and healthier lifestyle, achieve positive transformation, and to uncover the most authentic and highest self through the love of yoga.
Although Liang is very passionate about yoga, she is also warm and down to earth. When she’s not teaching yoga, Liang likes to paint, work on art projects, cook, and spend time with her friends and furry baby.

What is Tapas Yoga?
Yoga is an ancient practice that began in India over 5000 years ago and is the union of the mind, body, and soul. Yoga has 8 limbs/elements that serve as the prescription for moral ethics and self-discipline. Tapas yoga is the third principle of the second limb, Niyama, which places an emphasis on self-discipline and spiritual observances. Tapas is a Sanskrit word that translates into discipline, determination, commitment, passion, inner fire, and burning off impurities.
Tapas yoga does not just cultivate the positive transformation of oneself physically, mentally, and emotionally, but it also encourages us to find the path of the truest self and to live a fulfilled and happy rewarding life.
